Richard comes from Wakefield in West Yorkshire. He qualified in 1997 from Newcastle University and has worked continuously in general practice ever since. Richard has a continuing commitment to post-graduate education and is a member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) the British Dental Association (BDA), and is one of the founder members of and past Chairman of the North East Private Dentist (NEPD) group, a position he held for 3 years.

Richard has an interest in orthodontics particularly invisible aligners: he is an Experienced Invisalign Doctor, and looks after all clear aligner teeth straightening patients at Carew Dental during his Saturday clinics.

Outside of dentistry Richard enjoys spending time with his children and fiancée Clare. Together with walking their dogs, Monty and Rory, he is always working on keeping fit!
