What Happens During Implant Surgery

Restoring a gap with a dental implant is the nearest thing we have to replacing a natural tooth. Implant treatment provides you with artificial tooth root and functioning artificial tooth.

Where there was an unsightly space you now have a functioning tooth that matches the rest of your smile, nobody except you would know you’d had treatment!

Implants are a fantastic treatment option for many patients looking to return function and form to their smile.

Step four

Implant Placement:
During the surgical phase, Melbourne will place the implant into your jawbone under local anaesthesia, making sure you’re comfortable every step of the way.

Step five

Osseointegration:
Over the next few months, the implant integrates with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration, ensuring it becomes securely anchored.

Step six

Abutment Placement:
Once integration is complete, an abutment is attached to the implant. This serves as the connector between the implant and your new tooth.

Step seven

Artificial Tooth Placement:
The grand finale! A custom-made crown is placed on the abutment, perfectly matching the colour and shape of your natural teeth. Now you can enjoy your new perfect smile!
